vectra problems

sorry Iv'e been away for a while, just got my veccy back from the menders. While we were away two weeks ago ,on our last day it decided to refrain from starting. We called green flag out on our day of departure, and they diagnosed either a faulty fuel pump or/and the relay,so we were relayed home to cheshire from dorset. The latter mechanic said it was the pump. So,I purchased a pump, fitted it and lo and behold it would'nt start.Must be the relay I thought,so I changed that.Still no joy,At no time did either mechanic bother to attach a diagnostic code reader to my vectra. It turned out to be a broken feed from the ECU to the immobiliser, which shut down the engine completely shutting off the fuel.So I've spent money on a fuel pump I needn't have.Vauxhall's said it was terminal 44 and terminal 4,control relay.Glad it's now fixed:The other problem I had was the oil weeping from the manifold studs, that was down to me,I overdid the engine oil, however I drained about a litre off and changed the cover gasket, which was apparently leaking from the inside down to the ignition leads. It's now time to bid the old girl farewell and go for a younger vectra.[eight years of trouble free motoring]IT's twelve years old.
